An Austrian manufacturer of refractory metals seeks a technical solution to extract relevant information from big data sets. It aims to analyse the data within scientific and technical contexts in order to optimise energy efficiency, processes stability, quality control and to reduce scrap goods. In the framework of an innovation challenge, selected start-ups will co-develop and implement the technology under a technical agreement or commercial agreement with technical assistance.
As part of a regional innovation program in Tyrol, an Austrian company is looking for start-ups from Europe and beyond. The company is a manufacturer of refractory metals such as molybdenum, tungsten, tantalum, niobium and chromium components for high temperature applications. The alloys and composite materials are used in electronics, coating technology or high-temperature furnaces.
The company is looking for solutions in the field of big data analytics. So far, a lot of data has been collected from the machines, furnaces and thermal reactors, but has not been processed further. Another challenge is to overcome the interfaces of different machine types in order to analyse the data of the entire production chain.
Potential partners should offer a solution to extract relevant information from big data sets in order to analyse the data to optimise energy efficiency, process stability, quality control and to reduce scrap goods. Additionally, they are also interested in implementing artificial intelligence solutions to predict process control parameter for industrial assets based on both real time and recorded data.
The company is open to any type of solution (proof of concept, prototype or already on the market) from start-ups to co-develop and/or implement the technology. Envisaged cooperation types are technical agreement or commercial agreement with technical assistance.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This technology request is part of a regional program to connect start-ups and industry and is open for EOIs until 20th May 2020. Start-ups expressing their interest and offering a suitable and innovative solution will be guided towards a separate application platform. Selected start-ups will be further invited to a matching event from 16th to 17th of June 2020 (financial support for travel provided) where they can pitch their solution and have bilateral meetings with Austrian companies.
